My go-to breakfast for a year now has been a chocolate protein shake. It’s the easiest way for me to sneak in veggies + get out the door on time, both of which I find challenging as a full-time working mom.
The chocolate-almond-banana combination tricks me into thinking I’m drinking brownie batter rather than kale, and the ginger adds a fun kick.
Here’s how to make that magic happen:
Ingredients
- banana
- kale
- baby carrots
- almonds
- chocolate vegan protein powder
- ground ginger
Directions
Throw a handful each of kale, baby carrots, and almonds into a blender. Add a 8-12 oz. of water or almond milk, a banana, a scoop of chocolate vegan protein powder, and just under a teaspoon of ground ginger. Blend until smooth.
